We firmly believe that a judgment-free atmosphere is essential to speaking about loved ones and their passing. Instead of avoiding the names of the deceased or omitting key details regarding the overdose, we encourage participants to be as open as possible about their loved one and the circumstances surrounding their passing. In this way, we aim to foster an environment of mutual trust and respect. We want participants to share their stories and positive memories of their loved one without fear of judgment. This allows us to recall our loved ones more wholly—for who they were during their lives, including their strengths, talents and qualities.
